Hot Off The (Flesh) Press

A few stories you might have missed, but DEFINITELY need to know about:

Will Bunch over at Attytood reports on the truly scary rumor of Chris Matthews running as an Independent candidate for the Senate seat in Pennsylvania. Matthews clearly leans to the Right, but he would be seen as the only pro-choice candidate in the race, possibly siphoning votes away from Casey and allowing Santorum to once again escape with a win. Stay tuned.

Newt Gingrich attempted to put some distance between himself and the Bush Administration on Monday, criticizing both the wiretapping fiasco, as well as our occupation of Iraq. As his Presidential aspirations continue to smoulder, he spoke to students at the University of South Dakota, saying "It was an enormous mistake for us to try to occupy that country after June of 2003.... We have to pull back, and we have to recognize it." I'm sure the Administration was thrilled. You can check out video of him speaking on the issue of wiretaps here.

Iraq. Iran. North Korea. Terrorism. It's not like the Pentagon shouldn't be a little busy right now these days. So why the hell are they conducting surveillance of gay groups? Read the documents obtained via the Freedom of Information Act here.

Just when you don't think our world can get any more surreal, it shifts again and again.
